I'm Kelly Terry, and I live on California's Central Coast (the foggy, rocky part of the coast where we have more hoodies than t-shirts in our closets).

I've been teaching middle school science since 1991. Like many science folks, I began with a serious love of biology (and a strong appreciation for "The Marine Biology Coloring Book" by Thomas Niesen).

 

About a dozen years into my teaching career, I was assigned to teach earth science, a subject that I didn't know much about. Fortunately, my amazing husband, a geology aficionado, suggested that we begin taking geology-related camping trips during summer vacation. Happily, my love for my wonderful husband is as strong as ever, and I have a new love, too. Geology. I love it. And science in general. I love it. I do a bit of reading on the topic, too!
